Australian Prime Fibre launched its new cellulose insulation product line in October 2009 under the Thermal Plus brand name. Thermal Plus is available from Bunnings Warehouses and Bunnings Trade Centres in Queensland and northern NSW and directly from APF nationally.

Product specifications:

Thermal Plus is certified to Australian Standards AS/NZS4859.1 and AS1530.0 by SAI Global (covers physical product, factory production, packaging, quality and safety operations.) The product has been awarded and each bale is branded with SAI Global's 5 Ticks Accreditation.

Product ingredients:

80% by weight recycled pre-consumer Grade 9 waste paper (newsprint, phonebooks, printing off-cuts), blended with a 20% by weight mix of borax and boric acid for flame resistance and rodent and insect proofing.

 R-Value:

  • R-Value 2.5 by installing at a depth of 100mm

  (1 bag will cover 7.5m2 at this depth)

  • R-Value 3.0 by installing at a depth of 125mm

  (1 bag will cover 6m2 at this depth)

  • R-Value 3.5 by installing at a depth of 145mm

  (1 bag of will cover 5m2 at this depth)

Product packaging:

Thermal Plus is packaged in compressed square plastic bags averaging 17.5 kg each, stacked conveniently onto hire pallets at 36 bags per pallet for easy transport and reduced labour. Each pallet is covered with a clear plastic stretch hood that is sealed at the top and contains a UV stabilizer to protect the product from the weather.
